Misbah ul Haq, the former Pakistan captain, has decided to end his Pakistan Super League career. The 44-year-old was part of Islamabad United for all three seasons and also led the side during their maiden trophy triumph. The franchise released a statement on Wednesday (October 31) claiming Misbah won't be part of PSL 4 and they are trying to accommodate him in an administrative role. "Islamabad United has always greatly valued Misbah as a player, leader and a superb team player. As he transitions into his non-playing phase, we believe he can add a lot of value to Islamabad United as well as to Pakistan," the statement read. The Pakistan Super League door has been left open for Ahmed Shehzad by the PCB as the board decided to include him in the player pool for the fourth edition of the tournament. Shehzad is serving a four-month ban for consuming THC - a synthetic Cannabinoids - and subsequently failing the dope test. However, the ban was back-dated and he'll return to cricket on November 11 later this year. The PCB had originally refrained from adding Shehzad to the pool but clarified Multan Sultans can still retain him in their squad. "Shehzad's name has now been added to the PSL pool of players. The decision was taken when the PSL Governing Council comprising representatives of PCB and all PSL franchises met today at the National Cricket Academy. Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers will be a star attraction at the PSL Player Draft this season, after signing for Pakistan's domestic T20 league on Friday (September 7).
